What could have triggered this particularly painful herpes outbreak?
I have had herpes for about 2 years. I’m currently having the most painful outbreak yet (more so than even the first one). Aren’t the outbreaks supposed to get less painful longer you have herpes? I just got my period. Could that be the trigger?

My temper or stress will set off my outbreaks. Yes the longer you have herpes the less painful they get. I rarely get outbreaks when i do my immune system is shot or im under allot of stress.
Yes usually break outs are supposed to get less sever over time. I’m not sure why your break outs would be getting worse unless you have some thing compromising your immune system. Triggers are usually getting run down by stress, illnesses even having too much of certain foods can lower your immune system and trigger a break out.
Ignore that one, herpes has a negative social stigma. Some people love to poke rude jokes about herpes at people they don’t know.
